Continuing with the PM4K NEWS Series on the Commonwealth Games Project here’s another update.
NEW DELHI: The London-based Commonwealth Games Federation has courted controversy by putting a distorted map of India on its website that shows areas of Gujarat and Jammu and Kashmir as part of Pakistan. The map on its countries page shows northern areas of Jammu and Kashmir - Chilas, Gilgit and Skardu -as part of Pakistan. The Gilgit-Baltistan region is part of a disputed territory between India and Pakistan. Similarly, it shows some parts of western Gujarat's Kutch region as belonging to Pakistan. Organisers of the 2010 Commonwealth Games to be held in New Delhi in October said the matter has been raised with the Commonwealth Games Federation officials in London.
